Instructor describes co-pilot as safety-focused after Amazon cargo plane crash at MIA
An Amazon cargo plane crashed while attempting to land at Miami International Airport on Sunday. A flight instructor who trained the aircraft’s first officer said the pilot was a standout student who later became an instructor known for being safety-conscious. Investigators reported audio in which one pilot warned the plane was traveling too fast and another called for a go-around, but officials have not confirmed which pilot made each transmission. Authorities continue investigating the circumstances of the crash and reviewing cockpit communications and flight data.
