Hundreds attend vigil after young rider kll in hit-and-run on NW 7th Avenue
Hundreds gathered Monday night to honor a young person kll last week in a hit-and-run collision while riding an e-bike with a sibling. The victim died Wednesday; the sibling was seriously injured and remains hospitalized. Miami-Dade deputies say the driver was heading north on Northwest 7th Avenue, made a left turn near Northwest 117th Street, struck the pair and fled the scene. Detectives have located a vehicle believed to be involved and it is in sheriff’s custody, but no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
