Hallandale Magnet Launches AP Business with Personal Finance Course for First Time
Hallandale Magnet High School has begun offering the new AP Business with Personal Finance course this school year. The Advanced Placement class, introduced by the College Board with partners including NFTE and Intuit, covers topics such as personal finance, accounting, investing and business-plan development. In its inaugural year the course is available at more than 15 Miami-Dade schools and seven Broward schools; six Broward sites are providing it only through their Career Technical Education pathway, which is how Hallandale students are taking the class. The school’s business teacher is leading the class and said she looks forward to giving students hands-on, real-world financial experiences while they earn college credit.
