Habitat for Humanity prepares 26th annual Upper Keys golf fundraiser
Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys is organizing its 26th annual golf tournament, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, at Redland Golf Course in Homestead. The event is a longstanding fundraiser whose proceeds support the local nonprofit’s work to provide safe, affordable housing and to strengthen futures for families in the Upper Keys. Organizers say the tournament relies on community participation; sponsorships, player registrations and other donations contribute directly to Habitat’s building programs and related services. Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys is the primary agency involved in staging the tournament and directing the funds raised toward home construction and related housing initiatives in the region. For the community, the tournament functions both as a social fundraiser and as a mechanism to sustain projects that affect public safety and housing stability by increasing access to affordable, safe homes. Those interested in supporting the effort may do so through sponsorship, tournament registration or donations, according to Florida Keys Weekly. Florida Keys Weekly provided the information for this report.
