Groveland Home Targeted in Shooting After Sibling Dispute, Deputies Say

A man fired multiple rounds toward his brother’s home in Groveland after a dispute escalated, Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies said. Deputies responded shortly after 12 p.m. to a residence along State Road 33 and found that two brothers had been arguing over an accusation of theft before the altercation turned violent.
According to the sheriff’s office, the argument intensified after one brother threw a ceramic bowl at the other. The agency’s release states the suspect then went to his residence, retrieved a rifle, pointed it toward the victim and discharged multiple rounds in the victim’s direction. Several rounds struck the victim’s home; deputies reported no injuries.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office deployed a SWAT team to assist in locating the suspect, who was last seen returning to his residence. The sheriff’s office later confirmed the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The agency is conducting an active investigation and has not released the suspect’s identity or additional details.
At this time the case remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. No charges, motives, or other outcomes have been announced in the agency release, and deputies have provided no further public information.
