Four Miami‑Dade truck schools urgently removed from federal training registry
Four commercial driving schools in Miami‑Dade were removed on an emergency basis from the federal training provider registry as part of a nationwide action affecting more than 100 schools. Among the programs listed are Soler & Soler Truck School, American Trucking in Opa‑locka, CDL Technical & Motorcycle Driving School in Hialeah Gardens, and Metropolitan Trucking & Technical Institute in Miami. Soler & Soler owner Eli Soler says he received a letter dated Aug. 12 after a federal audit and then learned Wednesday via UPS that the school had been immediately removed and must stop enrolling and training students. The federal removal letter cites 13 drivers who graduated from Soler & Soler between 2022 and 2025 who later failed to meet the federal English proficiency requirement during subsequent roadside inspections. Soler said his school graduates about 500 students a year and noted the school does not issue commercial learner’s permits or CDL licenses; the notice prevents the schools from continuing instruction while the federal action is in effect.
