Fort Lauderdale home invasion leaves one suspect hospitalized; another in Broward court
Broward County, Florida — A reported home invasion in Fort Lauderdale left an 18-year-old alleged accomplice hospitalized and a 25-year-old man facing charges on Broward County court.

According to law enforcement, the two men—identified in charging papers as a 25-year-old and an 18-year-old—were armed when they forced entry into a residence that had been rented through Airbnb.
The resident fired at the intruders; officers found the 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to the torso. Fire rescue transported him as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center.
Police allege both suspects were carrying weapons during the incident. The 25-year-old appeared on Broward County court on Friday and is charged with attempted murder and home invasion.
A judge denied bond at his initial appearance, court records show. The 18-year-old remains hospitalized; authorities have not provided further public information about his condition or any additional charges while he is being treated.
