Former Sunset Park teacher accused of new inappropriate conduct with student
A former elementary school teacher is accused of inappropriately touching a current student and showing her an explicit image on his cellphone during the 2025-26 school year. Cesar Oriol Cardoso, 53, who previously taught at Sunset Park Elementary in Kendall and is already facing more than a dozen student-related charges, has been jailed since Sept. 11 and is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Miami-Dade Schools Police detectives were notified Wednesday; the girl completed a recorded forensic interview at Kristi House on Thursday and told investigators Cardoso, her math teacher, displayed a nude photo on his phone, turned it off when she approached, touched her buttocks and asked for a kiss. The department continues to investigate the allegations. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
