Former Miami‑Dade schools psychologist sentenced to 30 years for chld sexual abuse material

A former Miami‑Dade County Public Schools psychologist was sentenced to 30 years in state prison after a jury found him guilty on eight charges related to chld sexual abuse material. Authorities say the defendant was arrested in August 2024 after a cyber tip from Instagram led investigators to an account connected to him and to videos stored on his cellphone depicting chldren ages 8 to 16, some allegedly present on the device for more than two years. Prosecutors say they also uncovered online messages in which the defendant described sexual fantasies involving chldren; the defense contended the account had been hacked and the defendant’s information stolen. After roughly two hours of deliberation, jurors convicted him on all counts, including promotion and possession of a sexual performance by a chld; he will serve the state prison term imposed at sentencing. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
