Florida City man arrested in fatal Homestead market sh00ting

A 37-year-old Florida City man was arrested Wednesday and charged in the Aug. 18 sh00ting that left a man dead outside a Homestead market. Deputies said Homestead officers responded just after midnight to a ShotSpotter alert that detected 11 rounds; they found the victim on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. Investigators recovered 11 9mm shell casings and say surveillance video and a witness placed the suspect across the street moments before the sh00ting, after which he rode an electric bike and then approached the victim from behind and opened fire. Deputies reported the suspect fled westbound on a route consistent with travel toward his girlfriend’s Florida City home; an autopsy was conducted Aug. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
