Flight data shows aborted go‑around then return to landing in Miami cargo plane crash
Investigators say flight data from the Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 shows the crew began a go‑around sequence in the final 30 seconds of the landing attempt but then reduced power and continued to stop on the runway. The aircraft overshot the runway by about 1,300 feet, crossed the airport perimeter, struck two vehicles on Northwest 67th Avenue and kll five people. NTSB investigator Chihoon Shin said the nose and right main landing gear contacted pavement with a ground speed of about 158 knots, the left main gear touched down 11 seconds later as engine power rose to values consistent with go‑around thrust, then 11 seconds before the recording ended throttles went to idle and brakes were reapplied with ground speed around 117 knots; the recording stopped with the airplane traveling roughly 75 mph. The data show no indication that speed brakes or thrust reversers were used. The NTSB continues its analysis of the flight data as the investigation proceeds.
