Five people were kll Sunday when an Amazon cargo jet ran off a runway at Miami International Airport and struck a van carrying workers from a cleaning contractor, Miami‑Dade authorities said. Miami‑Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero‑Stutz said the victims — Rolando Aleman, Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, Julio C. Pineda, Carlos Acosta Fajardo and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo — were among seven people in the van at the time of the collision. The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine how the aircraft left the runway and struck the vehicle. The workers’ employer, Professional Ocean Service Corp., issued a statement saying the company is grieving, offering prayers for the deceased and support for those injured and affected.
