FDLE agent fires, kll person after street altercation in southwest Miami‑Dade

A Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent fatally sh0t a person after a physical altercation Thursday morning in a southwest Miami‑Dade neighborhood, officials said. Deputies arrived shortly after 9 a.m. near Southwest 157th Avenue and Southwest 140th Street after the agent, who had been inside his vehicle, was approached by a person who began striking the vehicle’s window; the agent exited and the two engaged in a struggle during which the person reportedly threw the agent to the ground and got on top of him before the agent fired. A Miami Police officer in the area and Miami‑Dade deputies rendered lifesaving aid to the injured person, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue also responded to a medical call reporting an assault and said one person was taken to the hospital; identities and medical conditions have not been released. Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office investigators are handling the scene and processing the incident; additional investigative actions were not detailed.
