Fatal crash in Brownsville involves unmarked Miami‑Dade deputy vehicle
A collision involving an unmarked Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office vehicle and two civilian cars occurred in northwest Miami‑Dade Wednesday night near the intersection of Northwest 51st Terrace and Northwest 33rd Avenue at about 7:42 p.m. Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue took one civilian driver to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition; that person was later pronounced dead. The driver of the second civilian car was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, and the deputy was treated at the scene. Rescue crews said one person had to be extricated from a vehicle and surveillance video circulated by a community member appears to show the violent crash; the sheriff’s office is investigating and has not released what caused the collision.
