Doral man arrested after alleged physical abuse of 11-year-old daughter
A 53-year-old Doral man was arrested Thursday after police say he physically assaulted his 11-year-old daughter during a Wednesday-night dispute over a tablet and bedtime. Officers allege he took the girl’s iPad, broke it with a hammer, then threatened her before entering the bedroom she shared with an older sibling and pushing and kicking her multiple times. The chld was taken to a hospital for evaluation; medical staff reported minor contusions to her lower back and near her shin and crime-scene personnel documented the injuries. Police booked the man into jail on one count of chld abuse without great bodily harm; the case remains under investigation and will be handled by prosecutors next. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
