DoorDash driver arrested after tip-jar thefts at Homestead and Florida City eateries
Homestead police say they arrested a man after surveillance video allegedly showed him taking cash from tip jars at multiple businesses on Aug. 18. Officers say Richard Morfa, 44, entered a café in Homestead around noon and removed money from the tip jar twice before a customer recovered some of the cash; police say he later took money from tip jars at a Florida City restaurant and a Homestead Dairy Queen while picking up delivery orders for his DoorDash job. Images of the suspect were shared on social media and investigators located and took him into custody. Authorities delivered him to jail; charges are pending as the cases are reviewed. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
