Deputy fires after deputies find woman mauled by dogs in northwest Miami-Dade
A woman was critically injured Thursday evening after she was attacked by multiple dogs in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said. Deputies responding around 6 p.m. found the victim being treated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and multiple dogs in the front yard of a residence. Deputies attempted to secure the gate to contain the animals; one dog then reportedly lunged at a deputy, who fired their service weapon. Miami-Dade County Animal Services says four dogs are connected to the incident; one animal was captured and is in custody while the search continues for three others. The woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition and the sheriff’s office is investigating the sh00ting and the dog attack. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
