Deputy fatally shoots teenager during Miami Beach search-warrant entry, bodycam video shows
A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy sh0t and kll a teenager just before 7 a.m. in the Biscayne Point section of North Beach while serving a search warrant, according to released body-worn camera footage. The video shows a Special Response Team breaching a door and shouting at a woman to raise her hands; moments later a teenager swings the door open holding a handgun in his right hand and moves toward the room. The sheriff’s office says the deputy ordered the teen to put up his hands, the teen did not comply, and the deputy then fired. Authorities also released a photo of the gun they said the teenager had; no further details on charges or other actions were provided. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
