Deadly cargo plane crash triggers ground stop, strands travelers at MIA
A cargo plane crash that kll at least one person prompted a full ground stop at Miami International Airport on Sunday as first responders worked the scene. The halt carried into Monday, disrupting service during the busy Labor Day travel period and producing long waits, multiple reschedules and some outright cancellations. Inbound flights were hardest hit; by about 10:30 a.m. Monday nearly 150 delays and roughly 60 cancellations had been reported, and delayed crews compounded the staffing problems. Passengers described extended layovers and rescheduled departures as airport operations continued to recover from the crash.
