Dallas leaders toured Highland Hills after repeated shootings and a homicide

City officials visited a south Dallas neighborhood after repeated shootings and at least one recent death in Highland Hills. Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux and City Manager Kimberly Tolbert walked the area with a council member to hear resident concerns.
Police had been investigating multiple shootings that included an incident weeks earlier in which five people were wounded and a separate case that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old woman. Residents told leaders they had also reported other shootings this month and sought a renewed focused patrol at a problematic apartment complex.
Officials said investigators were working cases and that they planned to increase patrol presence while detectives pursued leads. The matter remained an active police investigation, according to city representatives.
