Collier deputies end high-speed pursuit with PIT maneuver; driver arrested
Deputies with the Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after a high-speed pursuit that reached more than 95 mph and ended when deputies performed a PIT maneuver. The incident began when deputies attempted to stop a vehicle described as “blacked out” that failed to yield at an intersection on South 9th Street and Howard Way. Deputies reported the driver ran a stop sign before turning onto southbound 5th Street and then east on Carver Street.
According to the arrest report, deputies activated lights but the vehicle did not stop and sped through a gas station, striking and damaging a concrete pole protecting a fuel dispenser. The driver then entered an entrance-only area the wrong way, hitting a “Do Not Enter” sign, and continued east on Immokalee Road where deputies say the pursuit reached speeds over 95 mph. The vehicle nearly sideswiped another vehicle after turning onto Bethune Road, per deputies’ account.
Deputies conducted a PIT maneuver that forced the vehicle off the roadway onto the grass. The driver resisted detention, the arrest report states, and was identified as Emmanuel Dominique, 41. When questioned, Dominique reportedly said he did not see the deputies and that he tried to stop but could not because he was in the middle of the road. The Collier County Sheriff's Office alleges he committed fleeing and eluding, resisting an officer without violence, and driving while license suspended; the report also notes active out-of-county warrants.
The case status is an arrested subject with charges filed in Collier County, per the arrest report. No injuries, citations beyond those alleged, court outcomes, or additional investigative steps are documented in the available report.
