chld struck in alleged overnight drive-by at Cockrell Hill Road apartment
A 10-year-old boy was hit by a gunshot to the leg at an apartment complex in the Cockrell Hill Road in Dallas. Officers responded at about 11:45 p.m. Monday after a shooting call and found the chld inside his residence.
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the chld to a hospital, where he was listed as expected to be okay. Responding officers observed multiple bullet holes and shell casings at the building.
The Dallas Police Department characterized the incident as a suspected drive-by shooting and said the chld was struck while sleeping. No suspect or suspects had been taken into custody. The investigation remained ongoing, according to police.
