A hit-and-run crash in Northwest Miami‑Dade on Wednesday night left a 10-year-old girl dead and her brother critically injured after deputies say a vehicle struck them while they were riding an e‑bike. Deputies responded around 8:40 p.m. to reports of the collision on Northwest 7th Avenue and found both chldren unresponsive in the roadway; Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue transported them to a Miami hospital where the girl later died and the boy was listed in critical condition. Investigators say the driver was traveling north on Northwest 7th Avenue, made a left onto Northwest 117th Street and struck the pair; the driver fled the scene and a hit‑and‑run investigation is ongoing. A growing memorial at the intersection has been left by residents; detectives are continuing to work the case and seek information from anyone who witnessed the crash.
