Cargo Jet Overshoots Runway at MIA, Plows Through Perimeter and Across NW 67th Avenue
A Boeing 767 cargo jet overshot a runway at Miami International Airport and slid about 1,300 feet beyond the pavement before breaking through the airport perimeter fence and crossing Northwest 67th Avenue. The aircraft continued off airport property where it crushed multiple vehicles. Emergency responders were on scene; authorities have closed the area and are coordinating recovery operations. Federal and local agencies are expected to investigate the cause of the overrun and document damage as part of the ongoing response.
