Cargo jet overruns runway at Miami International; five kll, five injured

A Boeing 767-300 overran a runway at Miami International Airport shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday and struck a white Ford E-150 Econoline van and a Toyota Corolla Cross LE, kll five people and injuring five others. Miami-Dade County Sheriff held a Tuesday morning news conference and announced the identities of the five deceased; officials also confirmed the plane’s two pilots were among those injured. The National Transportation Safety Board remains on scene investigating the circumstances of the crash. NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy is scheduled to hold a public briefing at 8 p.m. Tuesday with the latest updates.
