Cape Coral man wanted after failing to appear on firearm-possession charge

Law enforcement in Lee County is seeking a Cape Coral man after he failed to appear for a scheduled court date following an arrest on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police allege the man, identified by Crime Stoppers as Michael Delage, was reported after allegedly showing a loaded shotgun to children; officers later questioned and arrested him on the weapons charge. He was released pending court and did not return for his hearing, prompting a bench warrant for his arrest.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Delage, 54, has a lengthy local arrest history and is prohibited from legally possessing firearms. Investigators say Delage told officers he owned many firearms and made statements comparing how he would carry weapons in another city. The agency reports he may use aliases including Michael Miller or Tuck Delage.

Delage’s recorded local history includes about 20 prior arrests on allegations such as fraud, hit-and-run, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, contempt of court and four DUIs. Authorities describe him as approximately 5'10" and 150 pounds and advise he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers asks anyone with information to contact their tip line at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), via the P3 app, or on its website. Tips may be submitted anonymously; eligible tips can carry a cash reward, the agency said. Current public records show a bench warrant is outstanding.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
