Amendment 3: No Immediate Impact on Monroe County Property Taxes
In response to a submission from Monroe County, Florida Keys Weekly reported that Amendment 3, a proposed amendment to the Florida Constitution, will not significantly impact property taxes in Monroe County. The amendment, if passed, would increase homestead exemptions to $150,000 in fiscal year 2027 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2028. However, the submission notes that non-homesteaded properties would be capped at a certain amount. No immediate changes to property taxes are expected in Monroe County as a result of Amendment 3.
