Amazon cargo plane overshoots Miami runway; witness describes shaken pilot
An Amazon-operated cargo plane overshot a runway at Miami International Airport Monday and later caught fire, witnesses said. A nearby worker told investigators one pilot emerged from the cockpit shaking and with minor injuries to his forehead and hand, and used the witness’s phone to call a family member; the pilot reportedly said he was fine and that his career was over. The two pilots were later identified as Joseph Carroll, 55, and Jaime Felipe Silva Molina, 37; both were treated for injuries and released, National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy said. The National Transportation Safety Board and local investigators arrived at the scene Monday and are conducting an investigation into the crash.
