Amazon cargo plane crash at MIA causes Labor Day travel disruptions
An Amazon cargo plane that had just arrived from San Juan crashed off a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, striking multiple vehicles and erupting in flames. Five people were kll and five others were injured, including three in critical condition. After the crash, officials halted all flights into and out of MIA; hours later two of the airport’s four runways were reopened. As of about 6 a.m. Monday there were 39 cancellations and 15 delays at MIA, with officials warning numbers could rise during the busy Labor Day travel day; hundreds of flights had already been canceled or delayed on Sunday.
