9-Year-Old Boy Reunites with Coast Guard Crew After Dog Attack
A 9-year-old boy from South Florida who was severely injured in a dog attack in Bimini has been reunited with the U.S. Coast Guard crew that helped airlift him to Miami for emergency treatment. Beau Brattain, who suffered multiple bites including the loss of part of his scalp, has undergone multiple surgeries at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. Authorities arrested Harrington Rolle in connection with the attack, who faces charges including negligent causing grievous harm and failing to control a dangerous dog. Beau's mother, Aliette Trelles, said her son is improving each day but still faces a long recovery. The incident occurred on July 28 when Beau was collecting sand for hermit crabs when the dogs suddenly attacked him. Authorities evacuated Beau and his father from the Bahamas to Miami-Dade County for treatment. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
