75-year-old man accused of stabbing wife while she slept, deputies say
A 75-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after deputies say he walked into his bedroom while his wife slept and repeatedly stabbed her in the back. Miami-Dade authorities say the woman woke during the attack and pleaded with him to stop; she managed to get the knife away but deputies allege he then punched her. Investigators say the victim escaped, called police, and officers found the man outside holding her by the hair; he was taken into custody at the scene. The husband, identified as Pratapsinh Thakor, faces charges including attempted felony murder causing injury and domestic violence battery causing harm; the woman was transported to a hospital with lacerations to her back and arm and a punctured lung. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
