74-year-old arrested after Hialeah hit-and-run that injured motorcyclist
A 74-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after authorities say she left the scene of a crash in Hialeah that injured a motorcyclist. Police say the driver was on West 49th Street and turned onto West 10th Avenue, where her vehicle struck a man on a motorcycle, ejecting him and causing injuries to his arm and left leg. Hialeah Fire Rescue transported the injured rider to Goodlet Park, where he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital; the driver did not render aid and left the area. Officers later located her vehicle in Miami Gardens, arrested her, and charged her with leaving the scene; she admitted involvement and will face prosecution. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
