A 23-year-old man was arrested in Wildwood after officers say he was driving without a valid license. According to the arrest report, Wildwood Police Department officers were conducting a traffic stop when another marked patrol car was passed by a southbound vehicle that failed to slow or move over. A second officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as a Plant City resident.

During the stop at about 8 a.m., the driver was asked for identification and provided a photo of a Mexican passport. He reportedly acknowledged he did not have a driver’s license and used a translation app to communicate. A records check confirmed no valid Florida driver’s license had ever been issued to him, and the Wildwood Police Department issued a criminal citation for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

The agency booked the suspect at the Sumter County Detention Center; he was released after posting a bond. Those facts—failure to display a valid license, the identification provided, the records check result, the citation, and the booking—are documented in the arrest report and booking record handled by local law enforcement.

At this time the matter appears limited to the traffic-related criminal citation and booking. There are no documented allegations of injury or other offenses in the report, and the citation and release after bond constitute the current recorded disposition in this incident.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
