Two people died, two injured in Ocala intersection collision

A fatal two-vehicle collision in Ocala left two people dead and two others injured early Tuesday morning, according to Ocala Police. The crash involved a minivan and an SUV at the intersection of Southeast Maricamp Road and 36th Avenue around 2:45 a.m.
Police arriving at the scene found two occupants of the SUV deceased at the scene. Medical transportation crews took two brothers from the minivan to a hospital; one was reported to have traumatic injuries. Emergency responders implemented temporary road closures on Maricamp Road during the on-scene response.
Ocala Police opened an investigation into the cause of the crash. Investigators have not publicly attributed blame or released a determination of contributing factors. Authorities later lifted the temporary road closures after clearing the collision scene.
What is established by the investigating agency is limited to vehicles involved, the location and timing of the crash, the number and disposition of casualties, and that the cause remains under investigation. No additional identities, motives, or charges have been publicly reported by police.
