Two men left in critical condition after Semmes shooting, Mobile County deputies say
Mobile County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting in Semmes that left two men in critical condition. Deputies were dispatched around 10 p.m. to the Cynthia Drive after a report of a gunshot victim, and located two adult males at the residence, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said.
According to MCSO, one man was found in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and extremities; the second was located on a back porch with a gunshot wound to the head. Both men were transported to USA Health University Hospital with life-threatening injuries. MCSO said one of the men underwent emergency surgery and that both men remain in critical condition.
Deputies recovered multiple firearms and shell casings at the scene, and investigators said they believe one man shot the other and then turned the gun on himself; that sequence is an allegation reported by MCSO and remains under investigation. Investigators are working to preserve and review available residential security camera footage and other physical evidence to establish the events and timeline.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 251-574-8633, according to MCSO. No arrests, charges, or criminal filings have been documented in the agency release at this time.
