A teacher at Tuskawilla Middle School in Seminole County was arrested after school surveillance footage allegedly showed her dragging a seventh-grade student from a classroom into a hallway. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office says the teacher, identified in the arrest report as Fada Isabel Concepcion, 52, taught seventh-grade science and was taken into custody this week on a chld abuse charge.

According to the sheriff’s office report, the encounter occurred during third period and the video shows the teacher pulling the student by the arm for a distance of at least 20 feet. Investigators interviewed Concepcion, who told them she did not recall dragging the student but said she had “escorted him out” while he repeatedly slumped. When asked about the surveillance footage, the report says she could not explain what it showed.

The student told investigators he was dragged and expressed concern about being punished by his father; the student’s parent later met with school officials and deputies, signed a sworn statement, and requested the matter be pursued. Seminole County Public Schools placed Concepcion on administrative leave and said the district is coordinating with law enforcement and its Office of Professional Standards.

Concepcion was charged with chld abuse without great bodily harm, was booked into the Seminole County Jail, and was given a $1,000 bond. The case remains under investigation by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
