A federal court in Peoria, Illinois sentenced Dione D. Alexander, 37, on September 18, 2026, to 120 months in prison for distribution of 50 grams or more of Methamp (actual), to be followed by five years of supervised release, the U.S. Department of Justice reported. Alexander pleaded guilty in March 2026 and has remained in U.S. Marshals Service custody since his December 2024 arrest on a complaint and subsequent indictment.

At sentencing the government said purchases from Alexander between September 4, 2024, and November 14, 2024, included multiple quantities of Methamp, Fent and cocaine, and that a search of his residence on December 2, 2024, recovered additional narcotics, a firearm, drug packaging and other distribution materials. The government attributed to Alexander a total converted drug weight of 9,542.70 kilograms.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Springfield Resident Office, Pekin Police Department, Peoria Multi-Agency Enforcement Group (P-MEG), and Illinois State Police assisted in the investigation, the Department of Justice statement says. Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa P. Ortiz represented the government.

The Department describes the prosecution as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a federal program that coordinates law enforcement and community partners on violent crime and gun-violence priorities, which the DOJ says it strengthened with a national strategy launched May 26, 2021.
