Pace woman sentenced in Santa Rosa County murder-for-hire case

A Pace woman was sentenced to 60 years in prison after a Santa Rosa County investigation found she tried to hire someone to cause death her husband. The Sheriff’s Office prosecuted a murder-for-hire plot that followed an earlier shooting and subsequent bond release.

According to the sheriff’s report, the suspect was first arrested in April 2022 after shooting her husband in the throat at an auto body business on Myrtle Road; the husband survived and the suspect was charged with aggravated battery and released on a $100,000 bond. After release, the sheriff said the woman formed a relationship with a man identified in charging documents as David Bollier.

In November 2022 the woman was arrested again for violating conditions of her release concerning her husband. The sheriff’s office alleges she then spoke with an inmate about arranging the death. That inmate contacted the sheriff’s office, and an undercover investigator conducted controlled calls with Bollier in which the plot and payment were discussed. Charging documents allege the woman promised $10,000 to have her husband died.

In July the defendant was convicted on counts including conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder and solicitation to commit first-degree murder, and this week she received a 60-year prison sentence. The sheriff’s office charged both the woman and Bollier in the murder-for-hire plot; state records show the charges against Bollier, including conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, were dropped in December 2023. Court records show the defendant remains due back in court on the original aggravated battery charge related to the April 2022 shooting.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
