Overturned vehicle with entrapment on Fred Freeland Road prompts air transport in Mobile County

Seven Hills Fire District and Mobile County EMS responded to an overturned vehicle with an entrapped patient on Fred Freeland Road in Mobile County. According to the fire district’s incident post, crews were dispatched around 9:00 p.m. Thursday when responders found one person partially trapped inside and under the vehicle.

Responding units included Seven Hills fire crews, the county’s Critical Care Paramedic Unit, and Mobile County EMS. Because of the patient’s position and the mechanism of injury, Medstar-Lifeguard AirCare (AirCare) was launched and staged for a scene landing. Crews stabilized the vehicle in place and employed a pneumatic lift system to raise the vehicle safely while protecting both the patient and rescuers.

After extrication, responders turned the patient over to Mobile County EMS personnel for stabilization and transport preparation. Medstar’s AirCare subsequently arrived on scene and assumed responsibility for patient transport. The post credited coordination by the 911 Communications Division in processing the call and relaying information among agencies.

At this time, authorities have reported the rescue and transfer actions completed at the scene. The account summarizes agency actions and the sequence of rescue operations; it attributes operational details to the Seven Hills Fire District post and participating emergency units. No additional information about the patient’s condition or subsequent medical outcomes was provided in the incident notice.
