The contact attempt occurred in a gas station parking lot near NE 14th Street and NE 25th Avenue, where Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies were assisted by the Ocala Police Department.

According to authorities, the subject wanted on a Lake County warrant for aggravated battery with a firearm fled the parking lot in a vehicle. The collision prompted an on-scene response from the Sheriff’s Office and Ocala police.

Police say the intersection has since reopened and there is currently no danger to the public. Agencies involved described the matter as an ongoing situation; the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is the primary investigating agency with assistance from the Ocala Police Department.

At this time officials have provided those operational details but have not released further information about charges filed, arrests, injuries, or the condition of anyone involved. The investigation remains active under the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, with public safety restored in the immediate area.
