Ocala disturbance leaves vehicle smashed and one warning shot fired, deputies say

An overnight dispute at an Ocala home ended with a damaged vehicle, a single warning shot fired into the air, and the arrest of a 30-year-old woman, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The incident began in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 24, when the reported victim arrived at a residence on Pine Circle to stay the night and was later confronted by the suspect at the home.
Marion County deputies say the suspect went to the residence after learning the victim was inside, began banging on walls and striking an air conditioner intake vent. The suspect then allegedly grabbed a cement brick from the front porch and repeatedly struck the victim’s car, shattering front and rear windshields and damaging other windows and exterior panels. When the victim stepped outside, deputies say the suspect charged while holding the brick.
According to the sheriff’s office report, the victim racked the slide of her handgun, which ejected a live round onto the ground, and then fired a single warning shot into the air to stop the advance. Deputies inspected the firearm scene and recovered one spent casing. An eyewitness account and Ring doorbell footage were reported to corroborate the victim’s version and show the suspect damaging the vehicle, advancing with the brick, and throwing it after the warning shot.
Deputies allege the suspect admitted to smashing the vehicle because she was upset the victim was in her bedroom. The sheriff’s office estimated about $15,000 in vehicle damage. The 30-year-old was arrested, transported to Marion County Jail and held on a $20,000 bond, facing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to cause death and felony criminal mischief; a Marion County courtroom date is listed on jail records.
