North Travis County apartment deaths reclassified as double homicide; arrest made

Two women were found dead from gunshot wounds inside an apartment in the Wells Branch area of north Travis County after a property manager discovered an interior door ajar and summoned law enforcement. The manager, while serving a written order at the unit, announced himself, pushed the door open after receiving no answer and called 911 at roughly 8:45 a.m., according to the investigating agency.
Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office responded and found two adult female victims. Initially treated as a possible murder–suicide, the case was reclassified after crime-scene specialists obtained a search warrant and detectives processed evidence at the scene. Ballistics testing and autopsy results were reported to be inconsistent with the original theory and supported a homicide determination.
Detectives identified a person of interest, a 24-year-old man from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and say they located him after identifying his vehicle and residence and gathering additional corroborating evidence. The sheriff’s office took the suspect into custody Friday and charged him with capital murder.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and is accepting tips related to the case via its tipline. The department has said the reclassification followed laboratory and scene work by its specialists and detectives; no further outcomes or court dates were documented in the release.
