Naples mayor’s probation tied to 2024 DUI addressed in Collier County court

Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann received a court ruling in Collier County that ended her probation early on a matter stemming from a 2024 DUI arrest. The matter originated with her arrest in August 2024 and a no-contest plea entered in February 2026 that resulted in probation and court-ordered conditions, including periodic drug testing.

Court documents say cannabinoids were detected in one of the court-ordered drug tests, and a Collier County judge found that determination constituted a probation violation. The judge extended her probation through May 16, 2027 after that finding. Heitmann and her defense team told the court the mayor denied using Canna and presented independent testing that showed no cannabinoids, according to filings.

A subsequent court filing states Heitmann has since complied with the remaining conditions, that nothing remains outstanding, and that all required financial obligations and assessments tied to the case have been paid. The local judge later granted an early termination of the mayor’s probation on a Tuesday morning, according to the filings, resolving the formal supervision requirement imposed after the plea.

Official court records and filings document the plea, the positive test result noted by court documents, the probation extension, the defense’s independent test claim, and the later filing asserting compliance and payment; the court’s recent order ended the probationary supervision.
