Mobile police turn business fraud probe over to county prosecutors
Mobile Police Department has submitted an investigation into two locally based home-construction businesses to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation centers on All Weather Roofing & Construction LLC and Window Depot USA of Mobile and follows complaints from multiple customers in Mobile alleging they paid for services and did not receive them.
According to public records and reporting, the matter surfaced publicly in late May after dozens of customers raised concerns. By July, the city’s Public Safety Director reported MPD was investigating more than 100 criminal complaints tied to the businesses. The Mobile City Council later voted to revoke All Weather’s business license, and the Alabama Home Builders licensure board suspended the state licenses for both companies.
Court filings show Window Depot USA of the Gulf Coast, doing business as Window Depot USA of Mobile, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in September, listing total liabilities of $1,327,215.94 and no reported assets. The bankruptcy filing and the license actions are documented administrative and court records; alleged nonpayment and unfulfilled work are matters MPD has been investigating and are not adjudicated facts at this time.
As of the latest documents, prosecutors have received MPD’s investigative file and will determine whether to bring criminal charges. No criminal charges or convictions have been reported in the court or licensing records provided with the case transfer notice.
All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
