A Milwaukee woman reported she was forced into a truck near Brady Street and later assaulted in a Pick 'n Save parking lot, according to a Milwaukee Police Department search warrant. The woman contacted police after walking in the area and told investigators a man grabbed her by the neck, forced her into a dark truck, and drove her to the grocery store parking lot on Lyon Street.

The search warrant lays out a chronology provided by the victim: she was grabbed near North Warren Street, driven to the Pick ’n Save lot, struck in the face (which the warrant says chipped a tooth), and lost consciousness. When she regained consciousness she found some clothing removed and said she was able to fight off the suspect and flee. Area video reportedly shows the truck entering the lot and the woman running away; pole cameras captured the vehicle license plate.

Police used the plate to link the truck to an owner matching the victim’s description and say the victim identified a 23-year-old man. Officers located and arrested the man on Sunday around 5 p.m.; the search warrant says he refused to provide DNA, which prompted the warrant. As of Tuesday morning, no charges had been filed and the case was under review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

Allegations in the search warrant are attributed to the victim and to investigative materials; documented police actions include the arrest, the search-warrant filing, and the use of video and plate evidence. Current status: suspect in custody and charges under review.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
