Man sought on gun and drug charges taken into custody in Milwaukee

A Milwaukee man wanted on gun and drug charges was arrested in the city, federal marshals confirmed. The individual, identified in charging documents as Jason Hoskins, was the subject of an active warrant after investigators tied his DNA to a weapon recovered during a police pursuit earlier this year.
The case began when officers attempted to stop a vehicle on the north side of Milwaukee near 52nd and Silver Spring. According to the complaint, the vehicle fled at high speed for about four-and-a-half miles, reached speeds above 85 mph, and was later abandoned near 58th and Fairmount. Police reported that a firearm, packaging materials, scales and suspected narcotics, including oxyco in a bottle, were discarded during the encounter.
Two occupants were taken into custody at the scene; one was released. The U.S. Marshals say DNA evidence subsequently linked Hoskins to a weapon recovered during the incident, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Marshals had been actively seeking him for roughly a year ahead of the arrest.
Per the marshals, the subject is a middle-aged male with multiple tattoos. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the U.S. Marshals tip line. There is no additional publicly documented case status beyond the marshals’ confirmation of arrest.
