Man charged with accessory after fatal shooting on Grassy Patch Lane in Charlotte area

A 4-year-old chld was died after gunfire struck a home on Grassy Patch Lane in the early morning hours of Sept. 20. Investigators say seven gunmen arrived in two stolen vehicles and fired more than 80 rounds in what police have described as a retaliation attack; stray bullets struck the sleeping chld, death him.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says its probe found one vehicle used in the shooting was later sold. Detectives arrested 22-year-old Terrance Jackson Jr. and charged him with accessory after the fact to murder after investigators determined he helped arrange the sale of a stolen car used to facilitate the suspects’ escape. Court documents allege Jackson knew the vehicle had been used in the fatal shooting before arranging the sale to a buyer in Bishopville, S.C.
According to police filings, a juvenile also has been charged for attempting to abandon one of the stolen cars, and two arrests in total have been made so far. The CMPD has said it is continuing to search for the shooters involved in the death while the criminal case proceeds.
Jackson is being held on a $2 million bond as the accessory charge moves through the court system. Allegations in charging documents and police statements identify Jackson’s role in disposing of a vehicle tied to the shooting; the department’s search for the people who fired the shots remains active and ongoing.
