Man charged in Cass County homicide arrested in Nebraska, awaiting extradition to Fargo

A Fargo resident has been charged in a Cass County homicide after his mother was found dead at their apartment, according to the Fargo Police Department. Officers located the victim during a welfare check at an apartment on 34th Street South after family members reported she had missed work and had not been in contact.
Fargo Police say officers forced entry after multiple attempts to reach anyone inside and found the woman deceased; investigators quickly identified her adult son as a suspect. The suspect was located in Nebraska and taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit that began in Milford and continued onto Interstate 80 toward Lincoln, the Nebraska State Patrol reported. Troopers said the vehicle reached speeds above 100 mph before stop sticks were used and the vehicle stopped after an exit near Ashland.
The Cass County charge is murder in Cass County District Court; the Fargo Police Department identified the victim as the suspect’s mother. The Nebraska judge ordered the suspect held without bond while he awaits extradition to Fargo. He was booked in the Lancaster County jail and remained in custody pending transfer.
