Man Arrested After Officers Find Removed Wiring at Montlimar Drive Business
Mobile Police Department officers responded to United Rentals on Montlimar Drive in Mobile after receiving a report Tuesday night of male subjects on the gated property. Officers arrived at approximately 8 p.m., observed one man going under the gate while a second person fled, and found that electrical wiring had been removed from inside the fenced area, the MPD reported.
Police located and detained a 49-year-old man identified in records as a resident of Wilmer. He was arrested and booked into Mobile County Metro Jail on charges of first-degree attempted theft of property and second-degree criminal trespass, according to booking records and the MPD statement.
According to the department, investigators allege the two men entered the fenced property and removed wiring; officers observed one subject leaving under the gate and a second subject fleeing the scene. Those facts are attributed to the Mobile Police Department. The report lists the matter as an active investigation; no further actions, charges against any additional person, or case outcomes were documented in the available agency record.
At this stage, the documented facts are limited to the MPD account: the time and location of the response, the observed entry method, the removed wiring, the arrest and booking of the 49-year-old Wilmer resident, and that the investigation remains active.
