A jury has found a 63-year-old Fort Wayne man guilty of murder in the stabbing death of former Allen County magistrate Marcia Linsky in Grabill. Linsky, who had most recently worked as a public defender and previously served as a magistrate, was found dead at a Grabill home in February 2024.

According to court documents, the defendant, identified in charging papers as the victim’s boyfriend, placed a 911 call on Feb. 13, 2024, reporting that his girlfriend had “come at him with a knife” and saying she was “no longer with us.” Officers who responded to the scene reported that the residence appeared to have been staged and that only the two adults were present that evening. Police took the man into custody and charged him with murder.

Investigators and court filings describe the caller as calm during the 911 call and include his statements to dispatchers that the victim became “very verbal,” that she “came at me,” and that he “responded inappropriately.” Those descriptions and the scene observations were presented to the jury during a four-day trial.

Following deliberations, the jury returned a guilty verdict. Records in the report show the case proceeded to trial and resulted in conviction; sentencing or other post-trial actions were not detailed in the available account.

All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
